The surest way to keep your vision healthy and avoid serious eye issues is through regular eye exams. We can mitigate a majority of eye diseases with early diagnosis and the right preventative measures.

Patients with special circumstances may need to visit our clinic more frequently, but there are accepted guidelines for healthy eye exam frequency.

Adults & Young People

The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends that all people receive a comprehensive eye exam at least once every 2 years.

Seniors

Patients over the age of 65 should get an eye exam every year. If you have been previously diagnosed with an eye disease or have a family history of eye disease, you should visit the optometrist at least once per year.

Glaucoma Testing

St. Clair Eye Clinic specializes in glaucoma diagnosis and management. One of the most important goals in our eye exams is to confirm or deny the presence of glaucoma. If you have vision concerns, please bring this up with Dr. Vyas.

We use tonometry to evaluate your eye pressure, which could indicate the presence of glaucoma. Digital retinal imaging gives us high-resolution photographs of your optic nerve, which provides further information about your eye’s health.
